  La ferme St Michel is conveniently located near the parking lot of the Mt Saint-Michel somewhat hidden from the main road. It is located in an old farmhouse that has been renovated and turned into a restaurant. The place is very spacious and decorated with paintings from local artists giving it a lot of charm.
  
  The restaurant is located outside of the Mt Saint Michel and is a lot less touristy than most restaurant you can find on the island. This was one of the best meal we had while in France. They offer à la carte options but I recommend choosing one of their menu which include an appetizer, your entree, and dessert. Some menu also include local cheese between your entree and dessert. The menu range from 22€ to 39€ which is to me very reasonable given the amount and quality of food you are offered.
  
  My wife got the "Menu visiteur" at 29€ including a starter of whelks and shrimp, a steak with sides, and a crème brûlée. I opted for the "Menu découverte" and picked the foie gras with prune chutney, seared duck breast, cheese plate with local cheeses, and a café gourmand with mini desserts. The menus are great values for their price, and you can pick between 3 menus depending on your mood and appetite! They also offer a children's menu for 10€.
  
  One little side note: the location provided on Yelp is not exactly accurate, we had to call the restaurant and get better directions to reach it.
  
  If you ever visit the Mt Saint Michel, do yourself a favor and skip the touristy restaurants on the island and choose "La ferme Saint michel" instead you won't be disappointed!

  Can't believe this place has such a high review. Yes it's less touristy thats located right next to the parking lot, but we got out of the parking lot and there's no way to drive in the restaurant then we had to go back in and pay another parking fee to get to the restaurant. Just be aware, leave your car in the parking lot and walk over, otherwise you will pay another 14€.
  
  The place is like a fam house it does have its charm, but it was very quiet and no music, it gets awkward. The service was really really slow, we could barely get their attentions. Just waited there staring at each other until they come to pick up our empty plates. The duo lamb chops I ordered was not seasoned, and one was half size of the other one, I felt like I got ripped off. The lamb shoulder my friends ordered was really dry. Overall the quality was not good for what we are paying.

  I went to mont st Michele 2 months ago! I am so happy we decided to eat here instead of going I to mont st Michele to eat! This place was exceptional! The staff the hostess the food was incredible. This place is not to be missed!

  This is probably one of the better places to eat in the Saint Mt. Michel area - there are not a lot of choices and a lot of them are expensive and touristy. We came here for lunch before we left and the food was pretty good. Not the best French food that I've had (we've lived in France for a little over a year), but not terrible either. I would make reservations ahead of time since they tend to take big tour groups in and it can get busy.
  
  There a few menus with 3 options of choices for entree, plat and dessert. There's a 22€ option, 27€ or 36€ option, so you can pick accordingly depending on your taste/budget.
  
  I got the 22€ option and my husband got the 27€ option. Here's what we ended up getting:
  
  Entrées:
  - Omelette - I really wanted to go to Mere Poulard on the actual Mont St. Michel but didn't want to pay 34€ for an omelette of just eggs, cheese and meat, so I was happy that this place had their own rendition of the omelette included in the 22€ menu. The omelette was fluffy and probably had an obscene amount of butter, but it was light, fluffy, and tasty.
  - Veloute of carrots with foie gras - My husband got the cream of carrot soup and we both really liked this. I would definitely recommend this soup or the omelette, you can't go wrong with either. I think I liked the soup slightly more than the omelette as it was well flavored and a decent size.
  
  Plats:
  - Colin d'Alaska (Fish) - This was an option with the 22€ menu and I just found it to be okay - the fish didn't seem that great of quality and it was drenched with a butter sauce and served with white rice. This seemed more Americanized than French. I wish they had included some vegetables or something relatively healthy with the fish.
  - Salt-crusted lamb with potatoes - This was an option with the 27€ menu and one of their signature dishes of the restaurant, so if you like lamb (I don't), this is a good dish to get. My husband got this and he really liked it a lot. The lamb was like a shredded meat with mashed potatoes on top and broiled so the top was crispy. I would recommend this dish over the fish ones.
  
  Overall, if you're staying in the area your options for food are limited and this was pretty good for the price. The carrot velouté and the lamb dish are definitely their better ones, so make sure you get those. It's easy to make a reservation ahead of time online on LaForchette.
  
  Desserts:
  - Pineapple gelatin - I got the seasonal dessert which was terrine of pineapple which was probably the worst dessert I've ever had in France. It tasted like something an 80 year old grandma would bring to a potluck BBQ - super sugary, sweet, and inedible. I had one bite and left the rest.
  - My husband got the trio of Normandy cheeses which he really enjoyed. They were quite pungent and strong, but he ate almost all of it and it was a nice way to sample local cheeses. The portions were pretty decent in size.

  La Ferme was one of the best dining experiences we had in our multi-week visit to France.   The food was delicious, service superb and setting beautiful!  
  
  I definitely recommend walking over if staying on the island or nearby.
